VSPT 0.2.7
The engine hooks changed: after updating, the main menu asks to patch the game again and downloads VSPT: Materials 0.2.7. Click Fix and restart.
Smoother: the same frame rates as 0.2.6, with the game’s slowest frames 14 to 42% shorter and about 60% less memory churn. A new Game frame rate setting (Graphics tab) runs the game on a steady beat at your display’s refresh rate (0.1x to 2x, 1x by default) in place of Max FPS and VSync under the path traced view. The game’s hidden window is no longer swapped, and the interface is drawn only when the traced view will use it.
Shader building: the world’s own features (rain, lightning, puddles, wakes) are built in from the start, so they no longer set off rebuilds; features that come and go are kept for 5 minutes; frames on that version show violet on the frame graph. The first start after an update builds faster.
Clouds can reach the horizon: Cloud distance (off by default, 1,024 to 8,192 blocks), with Cloud height and Cloud curvature. World curvature (off by default) bends far terrain towards the horizon.
Light: a lit campfire lights its surroundings, about 1.3 torches. A sailboat’s mast lantern is as bright as the same lantern on a wall.
Fixes: liquids in barrels and other containers look like the liquid they are, not clear sea water. Glass from mods without material maps is clear, not frosted.
